I can use the trackpad with single touch and the other trackpad functions/gestures work (2 finger, 3 finger and thumb spread to show the desktop etc.)But I really rely on having the trackpad haptic feedback especially to click and then to highlight text. I try to click and drag to highlight text using the trackpad and nothing. Haptic clicking not working on late 2016 MacBook Pro 13" This happened just today on my 13 month-old MacBook Pro 13" with touchbar. Never mind I am actually a dumb ass and had a USB receiver plugged in, the keyboard was on, and I moved it somewhere yesterday where some buttons were, you guessed it, pressed. I have visisted and it is not showing any key presses. I don't even use it but I just like it existing, but I guess I can update if I have to. I am currently with WiFi off if it was some remote access trojan (until I need to click Post). I can type wherever my cursor is and that's it. This has randomly started in middle of typing this post so there are weird typing errors because I can not go back as it starts auto scrolling. If I click a link in Safari, it opens a new Window. If I type in Spotlight, it gets autofilled. If I App pExpose, all of the windows flickr as they are "hovered".This does not happen in regular Mission Control. It keeps scrolling until I click past.Īs I typed that last sentence, it started If I click on one of my Menu Bar widgets (1Pass, PIA, Dropbox, etc) I get an infinite scroll to the right. My issue is in random screens such as the following: I have turned off all Bluetooth peripherals. Possibly more but I know it's those 2 at minimum. How ever no keys are physically stuck. They keys are either option or right-arrow. It seems in some screens, keys are being held down. MacBook keyboard acting very weird Hi all, this started yesterday on my 2012 Retina MacBook Pro. Thanks for any help it is very much appreciated. I've noticed that the screenshot function using the computer keys does not activate most of the time these days even when it is not scrolling. One article said the battery could be swelling, maybe that's my issue and the reason the fixes I have tried don't work. I started the computer in safe mode, and the random/uncontrollable motion was still happening (does the issue happening in safe mode mean that my laptop is irreparable?). I turned off spellcheck and the battery says "good". It is definitely not the trackpad, I deactivated that and tried a wireless mouse, and it did the same motion. I have researched solutions online and nothing is helping. It's done it several times as I have typed here (scrolled up to the top of the dialogue box and even though there is no where else for it to go once it reaches the top, I can tell from how the cursor looks that it is still in motion and it won’t stop actively moving up until I press ESC and shortly thereafter it does it all over again). Pushing ESC and holding it down helps sometimes, but more and more it is not helping and the computer overpowers the ESC command and moves to the top anyhow. If I am online the cursor point scrolls up too the top and then it keeps moving after it reaches the top (once it reaches the bar where you type in a website it will continue to push backwards/up and if I am in an internet browser I see it just continuously cycling through all the web addresses in the search bar). I am having an issue with the cursor moving backward/up randomly/uncontrollably on its own all the time. I own a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014).
